The annual inflation rate in Greece eased to 2.5% in February 2025, the lowest in three months, down from 2.7% in January. The main downward pressure came from muted inflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.2% vs. 0.1% in January) and a sharp slowdown in transport costs (0.3% vs. 3.3%). At the same time, inflation lowered for recreation and culture (0.9% vs 1.3%), while prices continued to decline for household equipment (-0.7% vs -0.2%). In contrast, housing and utility costs rose at a faster pace, increasing 5.1% compared to 4.6% in January. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.1%, following a 0.7% drop in the previous month.
