The dollar's recent surge, fueled in part by market expectations that Trump's proposed inflationary policies might restrict the Federal Reserve's rate cuts, has put downward pressure on the yen. On monetary policy, Ueda said the BoJ would make decisions "meeting by meeting" based on available information. Recently, he signaled his readiness to raise interest rates again if the Japanese economy and prices align with the central bank's forecast.
