Los participantes informan sobre el cambio en 11 indicadores: el nivel de actividad empresarial general, nuevos pedidos, envíos, inventarios, número de empleados, tiempo de entrega, gastos de capital del mes anterior y la dirección probable de estos indicadores en 6 meses. Una lectura por encima de 0 indica que la actividad manufacturera se está expandiendo y por debajo de 0 indica que se está contrayendo.

The NY Empire State Manufacturing Index fell twenty-six points to -20.0 in March 2025, the lowest since May 2023 and below market expectations of -0.75. Both new orders and shipments fell, with the new orders index dropping to -14.9 and the shipments index to -8.5. Despite this, inventories continued to grow, reaching their highest level in over two years. Employment and hours worked showed slight declines, while input prices rose at the fastest pace in more than two years. Selling prices also increased. Business optimism continued to decline for the second consecutive month, with the future business activity index falling further to 12.7. Capital spending remained weak, and firms expect input price increases to persist, while supply availability is anticipated to decrease slightly.
