Chile Tasa De Inflación

The annual inflation rate in Chile rose for the second month to 4.9% in January 205, the steepest since October 2023, picking up from 4.5% in December. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 1.1% in January, following a 0.2% increase in December and surpassing market forecasts of a 0.9% advance. The most notable price increases were in housing and basic services (+2.7%), as well as in home equipment and maintenance (+1.7%), while prices decreased primarily for insurance and financial services (-1%). Core consumer prices ,which exclude food and energy, increased by 0.8%, following a 0.1% fall in December.
