The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic stood at 2.8% in November 2024, unchanged from the previous month and below market expectations of 3%. Prices moderated for housing and utilities (4.2% vs 4.6% in October), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.6% vs 5%), communication (0.7% vs 0.9%), recreation and culture (3.5% vs 3.8%), restaurants and hotels (7% vs 7.2%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.2% vs 4%). Meanwhile, costs increased at a faster pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.9% vs 0.1%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1% vs 0.8%), health (4.3% vs 3.2%), and education (11.4% vs 11.3%). At the same time, costs rebounded for transport (0.1% vs -1.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down to 0.1% in November 2024 from 0.3% in the previous month.
