Últimas Actualizaciones
Indonesia’s consumer prices rose by 1.03% yoy in March 2025, reversing a 0.09% decline in the prior month but falling short of market consensus of a 1.16% increase. This was the highest reading since December, amid a recovery in spending during the fasting month and ahead of the Eid al-Fitr festivities. Prices increased further for food (2.07% vs 2.25% in February), health (1.80% vs 1.79%), accommodation (2.26% vs 2.47%), and transport (0.83% vs 0.94%). Meanwhile, housing prices fell much slower (-4.68% vs -12.08%), following the expiration of the 50% electricity tariff rebate that was in place during the first two months of 2025. At the same time, a drop in communication prices extended (-0.24% vs -0.26%). Core inflation, which excludes administered and volatile food prices, stood at a 20-month top of 2.48%, below forecast of 2.50%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.65%, the most since December 2014, after a 0.48% drop in February but below estimates of a 1.79% gain.
