The unemployment rate in Portugal remained unchanged at 6.4% in September 2024, the same as in August, but slightly below 6.6% a year earlier. There were 351.9K unemployed persons, 1.7% higher than in August and the number of employed persons increased 1.6% to 5.107 million. Meanwhile, those considered inactive were down 0.3% to 2.477 million.
